PRSF Participates in Community Foundation of the Lowcountry NEMO Program, Extends Efforts through Organizational Development Grant
August 12, 2025
The Port Royal Sound Foundation (PRSF) was proud to participate in the Nonprofit Excellence in Management & Operations (NEMO) program through the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry’s (CFL) Ekedahl Center for Nonprofit Excellence. This initiative, led by the High Impact Growth Oriented Leaders (HIGOL) consulting firm, included six intensive presentations and one-on-one coaching for local nonprofit leaders over the course of a year. More information on the NEMO program can be found at cf-lowcountry.org/ekedahl-center-for-nonprofit/test.
Jody Hayward, PRSF’s Executive Director, along with various staff and board members, benefitted from a variety of presentations and online coaching on board development, strategic thinking, staff leadership, and more.
“The NEMO program provided us with a wonderful opportunity to take a deep dive into strengthening our capacity and serving the community. It was particularly impactful to experience this training with other local nonprofit leaders. We are so grateful for CFL’s continued support.”
-Jody Hayward, Port Royal Sound Foundation Executive Director
PRSF is delighted to extend the efforts started during the NEMO program, thanks to a generous Organizational Development grant from the Hilton Head Island Foundation Endowment Fund through CFL. Funds from this grant will support additional individualized coaching for PRSF’s Director of Development. PRSF is excited about how this collaboration will contribute to its organizational sustainability and the advancement of its mission to conserve the Port Royal Sound for the environmental, cultural, and economic well-being of our area.
PRSF would like to recognize the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry’s continued commitment to serving local nonprofits and improving the well-being of Beaufort County’s people and environment. Through offering initiatives like the NEMO program, a variety of grant opportunities, networking opportunities to build relationships between nonprofits throughout Beaufort County and the surrounding region, and individualized guidance to promote the growth and sustainability of local organizations, CFL plays a vital role in supporting our vibrant and healthy Lowcountry community.
