Recycled Art Contest

The Port Royal Sound Foundationโ€™s Recycled Art Contest is an opportunity for the community to reflect on our impact on the Port Royal Sound. Recycled art pieces not only find a use for items that would otherwise end up in landfills or the environment, but remind us of the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste materials in order to keep the waters of the Port Royal Sound clean and healthy!

Details & Rules

Artists are invited to participate in our Recycled Art Contest. The theme for all artwork should relate to the Port Royal Sound – think ocean, animals, beaches, local culture & history, and fun in the sun! Entries must be recently created from at least 80% recyclables or trash material. Artists are encouraged to participate in litter pick-ups or collect materials from beaches, shorelines, roadways, neighborhoods, etc. to incorporate into their piece. Over $2,000 in prize money will be awarded in several categories.

Individuals, clubs, schools, families, and businesses are all encouraged to participate. Maybe a lifesize sculpture of a sea creature? Or your own version of a sweetgrass basket – use your imagination to help us bring awareness to keeping our community and the Port Royal Sound area clean!
