Savannah National Wildlife Refuge is a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service property located along the banks of the Savannah River. What was once a swamp and bottomland hardwood forest now Savannah NWR is an interconnected waterfowl and shorebird haven created by South Carolina’s infamous rice culture.
