Protecting our Natural Resources: Buffers, Setbacks, & Wildlife Corridors
Grant McClure, South Coast Project Manager for the SC Coastal Conservation League (CCL) will define, differentiate, and talk about the value of buffers and setbacks. Hear about their value for preserving wildlife corridors so that animals can move freely & expand their gene pool (increase fitness, prevent inbreeding depression, etc.) Grant will relate these topics back to CCL’s work at the state and local level (pushing for a baseline setback requirement for the state, encouraging municipalities to adopt buffer requirements in development agreements).
