Pluff Mudder Summer Camp
Campers will spend time participating in activities that highlight different themes and experiences, including ecology, arts, history, and conservation. Campers will take part in activities around the Maritime Center that will expand their knowledge of and encourage their interaction with the local environment. Multiple sessions rising 2nd-4th graders (half-day) and 5th-7th graders (full-day) each summer.

Sound Explorer Kayak Camp
Sound Explorer Kayak Camp is perfect for campers that have a passion for the water and want to build confidence by gaining a new skill. This camp will focus on the necessary equipment for kayaking, water safety, and mastering paddle strokes all while learning about the ecology of the Lowcountry. All skill levels are encouraged to participate. For students in 8th grade and up!
2026 Date: July 14-17 from 9am-4pm
$400/participant

Kayak Tours
Join a PRSF Naturalist for a 2-hour guided kayak tour of the Chechessee River departing from the Maritime Center.
Pricing:
- $35 (ages 5-12)
- $50 (ages 13+)
Children ages 5-12 must be on a tandem kayak with an adult (18+)

Story Time
Every Tuesdays at 9:30am from June – August
Once a month at 9:30am from September – May
Join us in the Maritime Center to take a trip through the ocean and watch sea creatures come alive through the pages of a book! Stick around after the story for a fun activity or animal encounter. And the best part is, admission is completely free!

Recycled Art Contest
Put your creativity to the test in a way that benefits our environment! Gather your friends and family, or go solo, on a litter pick-up, and create a piece of art from what you discover! Turning trash into a one-of-a-kind treasure. Cash prizes are awarded to winning entries in multiple categories and artwork is displayed at The Maritime Center.

STEAM Festival
Late-August
Celebrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) with a day of hands-on fun at the Maritime Center. Over twenty local businesses and organizations gather together to provide fun experiences for the whole family. Simulators, 3D pens, building with gummies, community art projects & more!
